Solaredge S440-1G M4M RM (cables + 2.3m, 0.10m) power optimizers are DC-DC devices connected directly to photovoltaic modules to maximize the harvested energy. They achieve this by independently searching for the maximum power point (MPPT) at the level of a single module.

These devices effectively regulate the chain voltage, regardless of the length of the chain or environmental conditions. Additionally, power optimizers have a safe voltage function, automatically reducing the output voltage of each of them to 1 V DC in the event of a failure, disconnection from the inverter, or when the inverter switch is in the off position.

Each optimizer also transmits information about the module's operation to the inverter via the DC power cable. There are two types of power optimizers available: an additional power optimizer that can be connected to one or several modules, and intelligent modules where power optimizers are built directly into the module.
