The SolarEdge S1200-1G M4M BV power optimizers are DC-DC devices connected directly to photovoltaic modules to maximize the energy obtained through independent tracking of the maximum power point (MPPT). They effectively regulate the voltage of the chain independently of its length or environmental conditions. They have a safe voltage function, automatically reducing the voltage to 1 V DC in case of failure, disconnection from the inverter, or inverter shutdown.

The optimizers transmit information about the module's operation to the inverter through a DC power cable. There are two types available: an additional power optimizer connected to one or more modules and intelligent modules with built-in optimizers. In the S series, the connection scheme has been improved, where the positive connector cable is long, and the negative one is short, eliminating loose hanging of the connector from the roof and reducing moisture impact.

The SolarEdge S1200-1G M4M BV power optimizer comes with a 25-year warranty, starting after either of two events: (i) four months from the date of dispatch of the power optimizers by SolarEdge; or (ii) after the installation of the power optimizers.
